Analysis of the Role of PAKASA as a Social Network of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace

Abstract

PAKASA is a community organization that plays a role in preserving Javanese culture sourced from the palace. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, PAKASA is studied with a social network approach. Data was obtained through interviews, observations, and document searches. The informants were obtained through the snowball technique, The results of the study showed that PAKASA is a triadic network that is vertical and horizontal in nature which is built on the basis of trust based on the values of setyo ngrumekso budoyo and bongso. The PAKASA network is in the form of cooperation both internally and externally carried out by the management and members in their roles as the innermost, the intermediary, and the outer layer through the activation of the role of the potential network, activated network, and mobilized network. This study is still in the form of an initial study, so a follow-up study of PAKASA's work in certain cases is needed in detail.
