Abstract

This research aims to explore the concept of "prophetic art" as a new paradigm in the art world. Using a heuristic analysis approach and literature review, this study analyzes how the concept of "art for art's sake" (L'art pour L'art), which tends to be value-free, can be integrated with the ethical, aesthetic, and truth values contained in religious teachings, especially Islam. This research found that the concept of prophetic art has the potential to provide clearer and more meaningful goals for artistic works, namely as a means to achieve harmony between aesthetic values and moral and spiritual values. Furthermore, this study also shows that prophetic art can be an effective tool to enrich human life and society.
