Abstract

Indonesia is recognized as one of the countries with the highest levels of generosity globally, as reflected in the active participation of its society in Zakat, Infaq, Sedekah, and Waqf (ZISWAF). However, philanthropic management in Indonesia still faces significant challenges, such as fragmentation in fund management, limited coordination among institutions, and suboptimal distribution of aid. Rumah Zakat, as one of the leading National Amil Zakat Institutions, holds a strategic role in managing religious social funds and other religious social funds (DSKL) through community empowerment programs. This study aims to formulate strategies for developing Indonesia's philanthropic ecosystem using an ecosystem-based approach, with Rumah Zakat serving as the case study, focusing on poverty intervention in underdeveloped areas. The study includes the identification of the organization's vision and mission, ecosystem analysis, internal analysis, ecosystem mapping, selection of ecosystem-based strategies, redefinition of Rumah Zakat's role in the ecosystem, ecosystem reconfiguration, and the development of a strategic roadmap for interventions in underdeveloped areas. By leveraging literature reviews and interviews with various stakeholders, this research employs internal and ecosystem analyses based on the Resource-Based View (RBV) approach and Moore's business ecosystem model, as well as external analysis using the PESTEL framework to identify environmental influences.
